English translation: Febbraio 2026

1/2 SUN 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A [IV]

Zeph 2:3; 3:12-13; Ps 145; 1 Cor 1:26-31; Mt 5:1-12

Jesus went up the mountain Mt 5:1

“On the mountain,” God speaks. Jesus has listened to him and communicates His Word to us: “Blessed”. Now we know that the Father considers us and wants us to be “blessed”: fully present in His heart. Blessed are the meek, the afflicted, the merciful, the pure of heart, the peacemakers, the persecuted because of righteousness’ sake, the poor; those who have only the Father to trust.

2/2 MON PRESENTATION of the LORD [P]

Mal 3:1-4 or Heb 2:14-18; Ps 24; LK 2:22-40

My eyes have seen your salvation Lk 2:30

Today's feast is called 'the Feast of the Presentation' or 'Hypapante' by our Orthodox brothers, referring to the encounter of God with his people. Simeon, a faithful member of that people, meets Jesus and feels fulfilled, even though He is just a child; he enters into peace and thanks God saying, 'My eyes have seen your salvation.' To meet and know Jesus is the goal, the fullness of life for every person.

3/2 TUE 4th Week in Ordinary Time [IV]

(Optional Memorial: St. Blaise, Bishop and Martyr, † 4th century; St. Ansgar (Oscar), Bishop, † 865)

2 Sam 18:9-10,14b,21a,24-25a,30-32; 19:1-3; Ps 86; Mk 5:21-43

Daughter, your faith has made you well Mk 5:34

A woman who had been ill for twelve years, upon learning of Jesus' presence, approaches Him with complete trust and touches His cloak, convinced that even this simple act would heal her. Jesus, sensing her touch, helps her to publicly express her faith. He then tells her, "Your faith has healed you." From that moment, Jesus will be her support, providing her with strength to avoid falling into sin.

4/2 WED 4th Week in Ordinary Time [IV]

2 Sam 24:2, 9-17; Ps 31; Mk 6:1-6

What is this wisdom that has been given to Him? Mk 6:2

This is the question of the inhabitants of Nazareth, astonished at the wisdom of "their" Jesus. It's the same wisdom that flows from many humble priests during Holy Mass and from many faithful who are called to intervene on various occasions. Even in them, who know and love the hidden Father, the Holy Spirit speaks.

5/2 THU 4th Week in Ordinary Time [IV]

(Memorial of St. Agatha, Virgin and Martyr, c. 250)

1 Kgs 2:1-4, 10-12; Ps: 1 Chron 29:10-12; Mk 6:7-13

Be strong, be courageous 1 Kgs 2:2

At first glance, instinctively these words might evoke images of the muscles and the arrogance so exalted in the world. David, however, speaks to his son Solomon of an entirely different kind of strength: that which is based on trust and obedience to God. The same trust and obedience will accompany the Twelve sent by Jesus, empowering them to stand strong, even against demons.

6/2 FRI 4th Week in Ordinary Time [IV]

(Memorial of St. Paul Miki and Companions, Martyrs, † 1597)

Sir 47:2-11; Ps 17; Mk 6:14-29

For He called on the Lord, the Most High Sir 47:5

The author of the Book of Sirach reminds us that David, as a young boy, was able to defeat Goliath, a giant, by calling upon the Lord. David invoked the Lord not as a “last resort”, when he saw no other solution, but as a “first move”, with such confidence that he was willing to offer himself completely, without even worrying about his own life. He was not disappointed.

7/2 SAT 4th Week in Ordinary Time [IV]

1 Kgs 3:4-13; Ps 118; Mk 6:30-34

Come away to a deserted place Mk 6:31

Jesus had sent the Twelve to prepare the way for Him. They had performed signs and wonders by the power He had given them. Upon their return, they were enthusiastic but exhausted. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, noticed this and invited them to come away by themselves to rest with Him.

Thank you, Jesus, for continuing to send out those who announce your Name, and for inviting them to draw strength and joy from you in moments of solitude.

8/2 SUN 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A [I]

Is 58:7-10; Ps 111; 1 Cor 2:1-5; Mt 5:13-16

You are the salt of the earth

Mt 5:13

Who are that hidden salt spread throughout the “dough” of the world? The "Blessed," that is, the meek and pure of heart, the merciful and peacemakers, the poor, immersed in the heart of the Father. When they are present, life in the world is beautiful, lovable, and joyful. We are the joy of Jesus!

9/2 MON 5th Week in Ordinary Time [I]

1 Kgs 8:1-7, 9-13; Ps 131; Mk 6:53-56

The people recognized Him

Mk 6:54

  • Jesus, humble and meek, "the most beautiful among the sons of man," is immediately recognized by the people. Those who were able to touch Him were "saved," finding within their hearts a peace and joy never experienced before!
  • 10/2 TUE 5th Week in Ordinary Time [I]
  • (Memorial of Saint Scholastica, Virgin, † around 542)
  • 1 Kgs 8:22-23, 27-30; Ps 83; Mk 7:1-13
  • Hear the plea of your servant

1 Kings 8:30

  • King Solomon, son of David, has completed the construction of the temple. During the inauguration celebrations, he prays to God before the people for himself and for the people: "Hear those who will pray in this house," "Hear and forgive."
  • Thank you, Father, for listening to our prayers in our church and that you forgive the sins of those who ask for it.

11/2 WED 5th Week in Ordinary Time [I]

(Optional Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes - 1858)

1 Kgs 10:1-10; Ps 36; Mk 7:14-23

The Lord has made you king

1 Kgs 10:9

This word from the Queen of Sheba is addressed to Solomon. She recognizes that it is God who has established him as king over Israel. If the king loves God, all the people benefit. For this reason, Saint Paul exhorts us to pray for those in authority: they bear a great responsibility, even a spiritual one, even if they do not think about it.

12/2 THU 5th Week in Ordinary Time [I]

1 Kgs 11:4-13; Ps105; Mk 7:24-30

Go: the demon has left your daughter Mk 7:29

The mother who pleads with Jesus to free her demon-possessed daughter is a pagan. Jesus knows that His mission is primarily to His own people. However, when He sees that she approaches Him with humble faith and love, He recognizes that she already belongs to the kingdom of heaven and is no longer an outsider. She is ready to receive salvation. Therefore, He grants her request: the demon cannot remain in a house where there is humble faith in Jesus!

13/2 FRI 5th Week in Ordinary Time [I]

1 Kgs 11:29-32; 12:19; Ps 80; Mk 7:31-37

He sighed and said to him, 'Ephphatha!' Mk 7:34

A deaf and mute man is brought to Jesus so that He may heal him. He takes him aside, puts His fingers in his ears, touches his tongue with saliva, looking up to the Father, and says, "Be opened!" And the man is healed. The Church, through the sacraments, continues to open our ears so that we may hear the Word, and our mouths so that we may communicate it to others.

14/2 SAT SAINTS CYRIL († 869) and METHODIUS († 885), Patrons of Europe [P]

Acts 13:46-49; Ps 116; Lk 10:1-9

If anyone in there who shares in peace... Lk 10:6

"...your peace will rest upon him." Today we celebrate the feast of two missionaries to whom we can entrust the missionaries among us in Europe. One of them invited young people to a weekly prayer meeting, confident that Jesus would form them spiritually and make them instruments of His peace. Some persevered: they

truly became a fire of love and light for the entire parish.

15/2 SUN 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A [II]

Sir 15:15-20; Ps 118; 1 Cor 2:6-10;

Mt 5:17-37

Let your word be 'Yes, Yes' or 'No, No' Mt 5:37

Jesus is explaining the new "justice", that of His disciples in the kingdom of heaven. It pertains to every aspect of life in relationships with God and with men: it will always begin with His love. This "justice" will also include how we speak: this will be simple and sincere, without embellishments, like those who know they are in the presence of the Father.

16/2 MON 6th Week in Ordinary Time [II]

Jas 1:1-11; Ps 118; Mk 8:11-13

Your faith, when tested, produces endurance Jas 1:3

The Apostle James is addressing the brothers "in the diaspora," that is, dispersed among the pagans, far from Jerusalem. The encouragement directed at them is also for us: every test of faith, which we endure with trust in the Lord, strengthens us in patience, and this will help us live more and more united with Jesus.

17/2 TUE 6th Week in Ordinary Time [Cycle II]

(Optional Memorial: Seven Holy Founders of the Servite Order)

Jas 1:12-18; Ps 93; Mk 8:14-21

Why are you talking about having no bread? Mk 8:17

So many worried and disappointed conversations occur in our gatherings! We often hear concerns about the lack of faith, few young people, and fewer Masses... But Jesus asks us this question. Just as the disciples in the boat had "one loaf," which was Jesus himself, so with us, here and now, He is still present. He is our life, our joy, the Savior who intervenes to feed us and save us.

18/2 ASH WEDNESDAY [P]

Joel 2:12-18; Ps 51; 2 Cor 5:20 - 6:2; Mt 6:1-6, 16-18

Pray to your Father, who is in secret Mt 6:6

At the beginning of this time of preparation for Easter, Jesus suggests to us how to live it: with charity, fasting, and prayer! We will do everything with love for the Father, to give Him glory, not to make a good impression. We will be renewed and rewarded by Him with a new life.

19/2 THU after Ash Wednesday [IV]

Deut 30:15-20; Ps 1; Lk 9:22-25

Choose life, therefore Deut 30:19

In the name of the Lord, Moses continues: “so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord, obeying His voice, and holding fast to Him.” We see that it is so, we see it in our lives and in the lives of the people.

This Lent will be a precious opportunity for us to commit and be consistent.

20/2 FRI after Ash Wednesday [IV]

Is 58:1-9; Ps 50; Mt 9:14-15

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer Is 58:9

A holy time of prayer, Lent! The prophets already reminded the people that the Lord listens to those who live a life characterized by pure and active love; Jesus emphasized this message, and His voice continues to resound within the Church. I will be attentive to practice His love: then the Lord will accept my prayer and fill me with the Holy Spirit.

21/2 SAT after Ash Wednesday [IV]

(Commemoration of St. Peter Damian,

Bishop and Doctor, †1072)

Is 58:9-14; Ps 85; Lk 5:27-32

The Lord will guide you continually Is 58:11

Trusting in the Lord, valuing His Word, and making space and concreteness to His love is the way to witnessing many of His interventions. If I allow myself to be guided by His love and strive to live it, the Lord Himself will guide me, by spreading around me that peace, relief, and serenity for which we all thirst.

22/2 SUN 1st Sunday of Lent, Year A [I]

Gen 2:7-9; 3:1-7; Ps 51; Rom 5:12-19;

Mt 4:1-11

You shall worship the Lord your God Mt 4:10

Jesus loves the Father with all His heart and demonstrates this for forty days in the desert, fasting with humility. Satan, the tempter, fails to turn Him away from being the Son. With His response, it is as if Jesus is telling Satan: "If I am the Son of God, He will tell me what to do!" We will strive to imitate Jesus!

23/2 MON 1st Week of Lent [I]

(Commemoration of St. Polycarp, bishop and martyr, †155)

Lev 19:1-2, 11-18; Ps 19; Mt 25:31-46

Come, you who are blessed by my Father Mt 25:34

How we desire that Jesus, when He returns in glory, will invite us in the same way! It will be an infinite gift, and we await it with confidence. St. Polycarp, Father of the Church of Smyrna, intercede for us and for the Church in Turkey, which is dear to us!

24/2 TUE 1st Week of Lent [I]

Is 55:10-11; Ps 34; Mt 6:7-15

Our Father Mt 6:9

Thank you, Jesus, for teaching us to approach God as your Father and our Father, the One you have listened to and obeyed from the beginning. Thank you for having taught us to do His will, as you did even to the point of sweating blood and dying. Thank you that we can call God: "Father," of us, who believe in you. Amen.

25/2 WED 1st Week of Lent [I]

Jon 3:1-10; Ps 51; Lk 11:29-32

Something greater than Solomon is here Lk 11:31

We hear Jesus compelled to reproach his people: they seek only miracles, and do not welcome Him as the Messiah, worthy of obedience. They heard his wise words, far superior to those of the great King Solomon... We, the Church of Jesus, will be humble, focusing not on calling ourselves Christians, but to truly be so, living in loving obedience to Him.

26/2 THU st Week of Lent [I]

Esth 14:17-19; Ps 138; Mt 7:7-12

Ask, and it will be given to you Mt 7:7

Do we ask and not receive? Do not be afraid! The Father is pleased that we continue to turn to Him because, otherwise, we would have no life… And He always responds to us, perhaps not in the way we would like, but always giving us the Holy Spirit, who is much more than our desires.

27/2 FRI 1st Week of Lent [I]

Ez 18:21-28; Ps 130; Mt5:20-26

Whoever is angry with their brother will be liable to judgment Mt 5:22

This is the justice proclaimed by Jesus: new, compared to that understood and lived by the Pharisees. How long have I labored, seeking justice in sterile observances, and never finding it! Jesus has awakened me: if I am angry with my brother, I do not love my Lord. To return to Him and be “just,” I will repent and ask for heartfelt forgiveness.

28/2 SAT 1st Week of Lent [I]

Deut 26:16-19; Ps 119; Mt 5:43-48

You shall be a people holy to the Lord your God Deut 26:19

What a joy it is for us Christians to be His Church! We allow the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus grave us in Baptism, to live within us. We will be a witness for Him, ready to listen to His Word, to live it, and to transmit it, willing to leave everything to follow Him.
