CALENDARIO / Calendario Cinquepani EN
01 mar 2026 03 March 2026
English translation: March 2026
1/3 SUN 2nd Sunday of Lent, Year A [II]
Gen 12:1-4a; Ps 33; 2 Tim 1:8b-10; Mt 17:1-9
They were overcome with fear
Mt 17:6
Jesus, while in prayer on the mountain, suddenly shone brightly, and "his clothes became white as snow." They had seen God and were filled with fear! Jesus touched them and reassured them: "Do not be afraid." The true God reveals Himself in Jesus and it is Jesus Himself. He is Love that gives life, He is joy, He is security!
2/3 MON 2nd Week of Lent [II]
Dan 9:4b-10; Ps 78; Lk 6:36-38
We have sinned against you
Dan 9:8
Daniel prays with humility and repentance, acknowledging that the oppression and deportation of the people is a consequence of having disobeyed God. To sin is to put oneself in His place, considering one’s own desires more important and wiser than His. Where can a creature that rejects the love of its Creator possibly end up?
Merciful Father, I have sinned against you: welcome me back into your goodness!
3/3 TUE 2nd Week of Lent [II]
Is 1:10, 16-20; Ps 49; Mt 23:1-12
All who humble themselves will be exalted Mt 23:12
The person in charge of organizing the day had chosen someone else for a role that I would have gladly taken on... I tried to remain in my place, with humility. It wasn't long before I was called to an even more beautiful service.
4/3 WED 2nd Week of Lent [II]
(Commemoration: St. Casimir, †1484)
Jer 18:18-20; Ps 30; Mt 20:17-28
It will not be so among you
Mt 20:26
How much patience You had, Jesus, with your disciples! You were going up to Jerusalem to offer yourself, allowing Yourself to be crucified, while they were thinking about excelling, of being great. "It shall not be so among you," you repeat to me today, Jesus. Thank you for your helping me to live differently from the world, more attentive to serving than to commanding.
5/3 THU 2nd Week of Lent [II]
Jer 17:5-10; Ps 1; Lk 16:19-31
I, the Lord, test the mind and search the heart Jer 17:10
What do you seek, Lord, in our hearts? You answer me with the Sacred Scriptures: "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord"; "On whom shall I gaze? On the humble and on those with a contrite spirit"; "He has looked with favor on the humility of his servant"; "God loves a cheerful giver"!
6/3 FRI 2nd Week of Lent [II]
Gen 37:3-4,12-13,17-28; Ps 104; Mt 21:33-43,45-46
They regarded him as a prophet Mt 21:46
Jesus spoke of the Father, announcing His love and giving concrete signs, which sometimes surpassed the laws of nature: He truly was the prophet!
You too, when you speak of the Father, even without words, by living out love towards His most needy children, become a prophet who makes Him known.
7/3 SAT 2nd Week of Lent [II]
(Commemoration: Sts. Perpetua and Felicity, martyrs, †202/203)
Mic 7:14-15,18-20; Ps 102; Lk 15:1-3,11-32
He was lost and has been found Lk 15:32
Jesus helps us embrace his example of love for sinners and to rejoice with him for every person who recognizes their sin and returns to stay with Him, like the prodigal son. Thank you, Jesus, for this parable so rich in strength, light, and mercy!
8/3 SUN 3rd Sunday of Lent, Year A [III]
Ex 17:3-7; Ps 94; Rom 5:1-2,5-8; Jn 4:5-42
He is truly the savior of the world Jn 4:42
This is the conclusion, or rather the profession of faith, that the Samaritans reach after listening to Jesus. They came to him because they did not disregard the testimony of one of their own, a woman, who was even considered of ill repute. Yet, it is through her that they come to experience who Jesus is and to testify that with his love, he saves the world.
9/3 MON 3rd Week of Lent [III]
(Commemoration: Saint Frances of Rome, † 1440)
2 Kng 5:1-15; Ps 41-42; Lk 4:24-30
Now I know that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel
2 Kings 5:15
Yesterday, we saw that the Samaritans, who were considered heretics, recognized Jesus as the Savior of the world. Today, a pagan even from an enemy nation comes to profess that the only true God is the one whom the people of Israel believe in. Naaman experienced this firsthand. Thank you, Jesus: with you, we have the signs of our Father's closeness.
10/3 TUE 3rd Week of Lent [III]
Dan 3:25, 34-43; Ps 25; Mt 18:21-35
The lord of that slave released him and forgave him the debt
Mt 18:27
Jesus shows us the compassionate heart of God the Father towards us, sinners. He then directs us to imitate this love towards our neighbor. He is the master in the parable, who forgives the entire debt. It is He whom we want to imitate by joyfully giving in His name, forgiveness whenever it is asked of us!
11/3 WED 3rd Week of Lent [III]
Deut 4:1, 5-9; Ps 147; Mt 5:17-19
You shall make them known to your children Deut 4:9
God urges His people to remember the words of His wisdom. "What nation has laws and just statutes like the legislation that I give you today?" He reminds us in today's passage. He invited us to repeat these words like a prayer, at home and on the road. Thank you, Jesus, for showing us the significance of "chewing" on Your Word so that we can live it and testify to its preciousness.
12/3 THU 3rd Week of Lent [III]
Jer 7:23-28; Ps 94; Lk 11:14-23
Whoever does not gather with me scatters Lk 11:23
We will remain united with Jesus, always: we will think of Him from early morning, we will talk to Him, and guard His words as a precious treasure to counteract the temptations of the day. In this way, He will grant us the grace to be faithful in His Church and to gather the fruits of His love, especially His
joy.
13/3 FRI 3rd Week of Lent [III]
Hos 14:2-10; Ps 80; Mk 12:28b-34
The first is: 'Hear, O Israel!'
Mk 12:29
This is the first essential step on the path of Life that the Lord has traced with His "Ten Words." "Hear," meaning remember that He is "He who is," who is always with you, who loves you, and, therefore, you can let yourself be guided by Him, allowing Him to reign over your feelings and thoughts. You will become a sign of His love and you will be close to everyone.
.
14/3 SAT 3rd Week of Lent [III]
Hos 6:1-6; Ps 50; Lk 18:9-14
O God, be merciful to me, a sinner Lk18:13
This prayer was pleasing to God: that repentant sinner found himself renewed, restored to the communion with the Father and with his brothers for which he was desired and created. I will repeat it today as well, addressing Jesus with the simple formula that monks use: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner." I will repeat it many times, with each breath I take.
15/3 SUN 4th Sunday of Lent, Year A [IV]
1 Sam 16:1b, 4, 6-7, 10-13; Ps 23; Eph 5:8-14; Jn 9:1-41
And he said, "Lord, I believe."
Jn 9:38
The man born blind, a beggar, had witnessed the power of God at work in Jesus. When Jesus asked him if he believed in the Son of Man who had healed him, he answered with confidence, " I believe, Lord." I too, after having experienced interior healing from sin, through the power of the name of Jesus, began to serve Him, no longer begging for love from men.
16/3 MON 4th Week of Lent [IV]
Is 65:17-21; Ps 30; Jn 4:43-54
He and his whole household believed Jn 4:53
Jesus has compassion for this royal official, who humbly asks Him to heal his son who is about to die. Jesus, seeing his faith, tells him, "Go, your son lives." “He believed, and with him, his entire household”: now, that family has a new center, a new love that unites its members. They will live loving Jesus.
17/3 TUE 4th Week of Lent [IV]
(Commemoration: St. Patrick, bishop, † ca. 461)
Ez 47:1-9, 12; Ps 46; Jn 5:1-16
At once the man was made well Jn 5:9
Jesus had commanded the paralyzed man to be healed, and the man obeyed! This is what we strive to do as Christians. Jesus tells us, "Forgive!" and we forgive, even if instinctively we would not do so; "Trust in the Father!" and we face our responsibilities given to us, even when fear arises; "Rise up!" and we rise from laziness to serve our brothers.
18/3 WED 4th Week of Lent [IV]
(Commemoration: St. Cyril of Jerusalem, bishop and doctor, † 386)
Is 49:8-15; Ps 145; Jn 5:17-30
Yet I will not forget you Is 49:15
The Lord, through His prophet, tries to convince His people of His love: even though they are poor and sinful people, He provides for them, makes their path smooth and enlightens their path, and lifts them out of misery. Will they understand? And will I? He assures us: His affection surpasses that of a mother; He never forgets us!
19/3 THU Solemnity of St. JOSEPH, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary [P]
2 Sam 7:4-5a, 12-14a, 16; Ps 89; Rom 4:13, 16-18, 22; Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a or
Lk 2:41-51a
Joseph did as the angel of the Lord commanded him Mt 1:24
Joseph, spouse of Mary, mother of Jesus, a righteous man, is enlightened in a dream, while he is considering secretly dismissing his pregnant fiancée. An angel reveals to him that the new life hidden in her, is the work of the Holy Spirit: he can keep her with him. He promptly obeys, and thus God's plan for him is fulfilled. Today, he helps us to listen to God, when we face, and have serious and difficult problems to solve.
20/3 FRI 4th Week of Lent [IV]
Wis 2:1a, 12-22; Ps 34; Jn 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
I am from Him Jn 7:29
Jesus listens to what the people say about Him during the festival: they know that He comes from Nazareth, while they do not know where the Christ comes from! He corrects their statement and reveals that He comes from God: He has been sent by Him! The Jews do not understand, and the leaders send guards to arrest Him. His coming from the Father will be made clear later on the cross, through His perfect love.
21/3 SAT 4th Week of Lent [IV]
Jer 11:18-20; Ps 7; Jn 7:40-53
For to you I have committed my cause Jer 11:20
The prophet Jeremiah realizes that some of the leaders are plotting to kill him: they no longer want to hear him prophesying in the name of the Lord. He then prays to God with great confidence and certainty, entrusting himself to Him who, as a “just judge, searches the heart and the mind”: a prophecy of what happened to Jesus, who was heard when he rose again.
22/3 SUN 5th Sunday of Lent Year A [I]
Ez 37:12-14; Ps 129; Rom 8:8-11; Jn 11:1-45
Father, I thank you for having heard me Jn 11:41
Jesus, you are standing in front of the tomb where your friend Lazarus has been lying for four days. You have not yet called him out, but you are already thanking the Father for having heard you. I too, have learned from you to thank the Father, even before He has intervened: He is the God of life, and He can always give it!
23/3 MON 5th Week of Lent [I]
(commemoration: St. Turibius of Mogrovejo, bishop, † 1606)
Dan 13:1-9,15-17,19-30,33-62; Ps 22;
Jn 8:1-11
He bent down, and wrote on the ground Jn 8:8
He wrote: thus He drew attention and made them reflect. Then he read what he had written: 'Let him who is without sin...' We understand: only one without sin can judge and punish. But who is without sin?
24/3 TUE 5th Week of Lent [I]
Num 21:4-9; Ps 101; Jn 8:21-30
You are from below, I am from above Jn 8:23
Thank you, Jesus, that from above, from the Father, You came to bring me, a sinner, up there, into communion with Him. You allowed yourself to be lifted up on the cross to heal me from distrust in Him, from the poison of pride and selfishness. I lift my eyes to You, like the “good thief,” to you, Jesus, to be welcomed into your kingdom.
25/3 WED Solemnity of the ANNUNCIATION of the LORD [P]
Is 7:10-14; 8:10c; Ps 39; Heb 10:4-10; Lk 1:26-38
Let it be with me according to your word Lk 1:38
It is the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord; it could also be called the 'yes' of Mary: “Let it be with me according to your word.” And the Word became flesh. I want to learn from Mary faith, openness, and the gift of self to God. I entrust myself to you, Jesus: let it be done to me also according to your Word.
26/3 THU 5th Week of Lent [I]
Gen 17:3-9; Ps 104; Jn 8:51-59
Jesus went out of the temple
Jn 8:59
Jesus was speaking with the leaders of the people who, despite the various arguments he presented about his divine nature, hated him. Blinded by their pride and hypocrisy, they could not accept his testimony, which was also confirmed by signs of healing the sick. Then he left the temple, and with Him the glory of God, which will no longer enter there again. Now, Jesus alone is the temple of the God of love.
27/3 FRI 5th Week of Lent [I]
Jer 20:10-13; Ps 17; Jn 10:31-42
The Lord is with me like a dread warrior Jer 20:11
Your “hour” is approaching, Jesus! The most religious and the learned in the Scriptures never welcomed You: You announced the Father, unknown to their proud and selfish hearts. Now the persecution has come. You, Jesus, remain entrusted to the Father, learning from Jeremiah. I adore You, and I, too, learn to suffer for Your cause.
28/3 SAT 5th Week of Lent [I]
Ez 37:21-28; Psalm: Jer 31:10-13;
Jn 11:45-56
I will save them from all the apostasies into which they have fallen Ez 37:23
Jesus, you are facing the Passion: we will celebrate it with love in this upcoming Holy Week. The passage from Ezekiel prepares us: You will suffer to give us a pure and new heart, as obedient children. We will be able to fulfill the Father's will and finally know joy. Thank You, Jesus!
29/3 PALM SUNDAY Year A [P]
Mt 21:1-11; Is 50:4-7; Ps 21; Phil 2:6-11; Passion: Mt 26:14 - 27:66
This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth Mt 21:11
Jesus is arriving in Jerusalem for Passover, preceded and followed by a large crowd. Others join the triumphant procession singing: “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” Jesus, on the colt of a donkey, like kings entering victoriously into the city, knows he is not an earthly king, but the King-Messiah of the Scriptures, who comes with meekness, a powerful prophet “in words and deed.”
30/3 HOLY MONDAY [II]
Is 42:1-7; Ps 26; Jn 12:1-11
But you do not always have me
Jn 12:8
Judas, who loved not Jesus, but money, criticizes Mary's gesture: she had anointed Jesus' feet with very precious perfume. Judas pretends to be concerned for the poor... But only those who love Jesus, even if they do not see Him, also love the poor in a true, divine, holy, effective way!
31/3 HOLY TUESDAY [II]
Is 49:1-6; Ps 70; Jn 13:21-33,36-38
Where I am going, you cannot come Jn 13:35
Jesus, at that Supper You were trying to reveal to your friends the mystery, the will of the Father: death awaited You, death on the cross, and You would go there alone. You alone are the love that saves the world! When, risen, You breathe the Holy Spirit upon them, they too will be able to walk the path of perfect love."
